Under the Project Agreement (PA) amoig the Social Welfare Council (SWC) and AMDA-MINDS, AMDA-Nepal implemented a project for improvement of maternal and child health (MCH) in Rupandehi and Nawalparashi districts for five years. The project had major parts; providing basic health awareness to community to prevent risk factors by communities themselves, and enhancing quality medical services of Siddhartha Children and Women Hospital (SCWH). Based on this successful experience and expertise, AMDA-Nepal and AMDA-MINDS conducted a survey to understand the situation of maternal and child health in the same province. Reviewing the indicators and interviewing District Public Health Offices, Gadhawa Rural Municipality of Dang district was selected and the MCH project has been formally launched from 1 March 2019
