Principal
Namaskar and very warm greetings to you all
It is with great
pride and a deep sense of responsibility that I welcome you to the AMDA
Institute of Health Sciences (AIHS), Damak. Since its inception in 1996, AIHS
has remained committed to producing competent and compassionate health
professionals who contribute meaningfully to the well-being of individuals and
communities, both in Nepal and beyond.
AMDA Nepal
established the AMDA Health Manpower Development Center under AMDA Hospital,
Damak with the approval of the Council for Technical Education and Vocational
Training (CTEVT), to meet the growing demand for middle-level health human
resources. Initially, TSLC-level programs such as Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM)
and Medical Lab Technology (Lab Assistant) were launched. The Community Medical
Assistant (CMA) course was introduced in 1997. In 2008, we took a significant
step forward by launching the Proficiency Certificate Level (PCL)/Diploma in
Nursing (Staff Nurse) program, followed by our rebranding as the AMDA Institute
of Health Sciences (AIHS) in 2012.AIHS received recognition from CTEVT as the
best institution in the Eastern Development Region during its 26th anniversary
in 2012. Building on this foundation, we launched the PCL/Diploma in General Medicine
(Health Assistant) in 2018. In 2022, the TSLC-level programs (ANM, Lab
Assistant, and CMA) were upgraded to diploma-level programs in Medical
Laboratory Technology, Radiography, and Physiotherapy.
Today, AIHS
proudly offers 5 comprehensive 3-year diploma programs affiliated with CTEVT:
Nursing, General Medicine (Health Assistant), Certificate in Medical Laboratory
Technology (CMLT), Diagnostic Radiography and Physiotherapy
At AIHS, we
believe education must go beyond academics. We place a strong emphasis on
character development, professional ethics, and community service. Through a
blend of curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities, we strive
to cultivate leadership, teamwork, and social responsibility in our students.
Looking ahead,
we are dedicated to enhancing our academic environment by expanding educational
services, upgrading infrastructure, and promoting research. Our vision is to
establish AIHS as a center of excellence in health sciences education and
community service in Nepal.
