Dr. Sangeeta Baral Basnet is the present Vice President of AMDA Nepal. Upon completion of PhD in Dermatology from Japan, she returned to Nepal and since then has served AMDA Nepal as executive member and treasurer. From 1994-95, soon after the Cambodian Civil War, she joined her husband as a young doctor to work in a rural hospital of Cambodia for a project supported by AMDA. Dr. Baral is a Senior Consultant Dermatologist at Nepal Police Hospital. She is a life member of the Rotary Club of Pashupati, Kathmandu and is involved in several philanthropic projects. She provides financial as well as medical assistance to children of female prisoners.  Dr. Sangeeta is a life member of ASMAN, which is an association of her high-school alumnae where she works and contributes for the education and upliftment of underprivileged children and women empowerment.
