Program/Health:
- AMDA co-ordinated with Kathmandu Institute of Children Hospital(KIOCH), Damak for new Pradesh Provisions of free health services to under 10 years children. The inclusion of Bhutanese refugee in this provision seems difficult due to requirements of citizenships. As UNHCR has supported Hopsital, they planned to negotiate services under 50% discount in case of Bhutanese refugee referral.
- AMDA facilitated along with UNHCR and LWF on Participatory Assessment at Beldangi and Sansichare Settlements from 19th to 23rd of February, 2024. The total of 21 events of focused group discussion for different age group such as elderly, adult(30-59 years), Youth(18-30 years), Children(12-17 years), SMC and CBOs with separation as per sex(Male and Female) was completed.
- AMDA along with LWF conducted meeting regarding International Women Day Celebration with SMC/CBOs and committee with discussion of events and the budget breakdown of each events accordingly( Estimated around Rs. 50,000- AMDA+LWF Budget combined). The planned event for Beldangi is tug of war(each sub unit with 10 participants) whereas for Sansichare is Cooking Contest(each sector with 4 participants) with winner awarded with necessary household materials. Another event planned is honor program for long volunteer female in community( Total 5 from SMC and CBOs).
- AMDA announced vacancy for the post of Psychosocial Counselor from 16th to 22nd February, 2024 in which only 1 applicants applied for the given post.
CBOs/SMC
- SMC and CBOs of both settlements were engaged/ participted in different events of focused group discussion as per workplan shared by UNHCR.
- SMC and CBOs of Sanischare is engaged in Football Tournament organized inside settlement football groud with the individual sponsorships by residents of USA and Australian Bhutanese refugees.
